Adventures In York

So I’ve finished my first year of uni and so for me Summer is here! To kick it all off I headed up to York for a few days with my Mum to see the historic city and for a little trip down memory lane as we used to live nearby.

We started off our trip with a walk along the city walls. It was so hot while we were in Yorkshire (surprising I know) so we got this done early while it was relatively cool. There were some good little views and it was a lovely walk.

We then went into the actual city of York and had a wander round in between lots of coffee’s. We saw the Minster, went on a boat trip down the river, looked down the old idyllic street ‘The Shambles’ and went to the iconic tea room, ‘Betty’s’ for some lovely cake.

On the next day we took our little trip down memory lane and went out of York to visit all the places we used to visit when we lived in Yorkshire. This included the village of Helmsley, Sutton Bank where we always used to go on family walks, Thirsk and even exactly back to our old house in Dishforth. Sutton Bank has to offer what is apparently the ‘finest view in England’ and it certainly was decent….

Soon the mini break had to come to a close and we both headed back home. We had such a wonderful time, I definitely recommend a visit to York!

It wouldn’t be a girlie trip without a few cocktails 😉
