Sleep Tight

Is it just me, or has it been difficult to get to sleep recently? The weather keeps going from warm to freezing every other day and then stress from uni comes in as a contributing factor. I know not all of you are at uni but whether it’s school work or work work you can relate to the pressure that sometimes comes with it.┬áThat’s why I thought this post I would focus on ways to get better sleep!

There are the obvious ways to help increase the sleep such as making sure you drink enough water and not using a screen an hour before bed but what about other ones?

I’ve found that doing a relaxing yoga video really helps to wind down and empty my mind of the day, especially if its been hectic one. ‘Yoga With Adriene’ is my favourite but I’m sure there are lots of other great and free yoga teachers on YouTube!

Drinking peppermint tea in the evening instead of my usual fizzy drinks (I know I know!!) helps, it’s such a calming, soothing drink to wind you down.

Reading a book as my last thing before bed is something I’ve done since I was a child and I still love doing it now. I love getting caught up in the stories so I can drift off thinking about them. Reading before bed is so good as there’s no blue light to keep your brain wired and awake at a late hour.

And finally, if you feel like you need some extra help sleeping, I recently purchased the ‘This Works’ sleep tight mini Christmas set. It includes two sleep sprays and a roller ball and whenever I use them I honestly feel like I get such a deep sleep! I would highly recommend this gift set, I got it from Space NK for a very reasonable price and it’s been a great sleep investment.

Hope these tips have helped you out a bit in catching a few more zzz’s, sweet dreams!
