What I’ve Been Up To…

Sorry for the distinct lack of posts last month but things have been busy! Good news is that I have finished all of my uni assessments which means I’m FINISHED. It’s the end of an era but more on that another time…

Another reason things have been hectic is because of a project I’ve been working on. I’ve been a part of a piece of theatre in collaboration with English Heritage! My course-mate and housemate, Mimi, has fantastically written, directed and produced a magical, site-specific piece for a castle in Devon and has let me be a part of it. There’s a whole group of us, collaborating and creating together around this fantastical and fun piece of theatre for families to come and watch during the Easter holiday. The show we’re performing in Devon is called Wallflower, it tells the story of a woman who used to live in the castle but of course has magical, adventurous twists in the tale and not to mention some absolute bangers of songs (I’m cracking out the guitar, it’s not to be missed)!

We’ve not been able to rehearse on site yet (we can’t get there until the day of the show which will be an exciting challenge when the day comes, everyone loves last minute madness) but we’ve been around other English Heritage sites in Dorset to have a practice, including a very rainy day in Wimbourne which resulted in a pub visit!

It’s been so fun to be a part of this project with Cowslip Theatre. Acting is what I want to go into as a career now that I’ve finished my training at university and being a part of this creative process and project in general has really cemented that passion in me.

I can’t wait to perform in Devon next week and be part of other projects like this one! Hope you’ve enjoyed my little life update, until next time…
