December is SUCH a crazy month! With work to do, family and friends to see and then Christmas, it really is so busy and can often feel like a blur. I thought I’d use this post to slow it down a little, to look back and reflect on my December so far and let you all know what I’ve been up to…
The month kicked off with a rainy trip to Brighton with my Mum. Despite the constant downpour, we had a lovely day wandering the Lanes, exploring one of my favourite cities and even had a delicious coffee and vegan doughnut in the cutest cafe called Dexter’s.
A couple of days later we went on another trip together to Niomi Smart’s Smart Swap event in London which you can read a whole post about here. It was such a great evening and probably one of my favourite days of the year!
Next up was my Friendmas dinner and Secret Santa swap! Every year, my school friends and I get together to cook and eat a Christmas dinner, followed by usually the most hilarious Secret Santa opening imaginable (we always get each other the weirdest, dodgy, joke presents). It’s an evening full of laughing until your tummy hurts among the best company and delicious food. I count myself so lucky to have had these friends for close to 14 years now and I know they’ll be around for many more to come (they know too much…).
We’re getting into mid-late December now and I decided a London trip was due (the week before Christmas, I’m mad I know). I took a lovely walk through Chelsea and had some lunch there before heading over to Winter Wonderland where I met a couple of uni friends. We had a walk around, taking in the festive sights while drinking toffee apple cider and two of us went on one of the roller-coasters. It was really quite busy but the buzz of excitement that Christmas was so close made the experience even more fun. We then went to a pub together before heading our separate ways home.
In among all this I have actually been working lots, spending time with the family and friends and taking naps where I can. I would say it’s been a great December so far and now Christmas is pretty much upon us! Today was spent doing some last bits of baking and present wrapping so I’m now prepared for the big day. This will probably be my last post before Christmas so I hope you have a wonderful day and I’ll see you again on the other side.
